How did our church start?
Informally, Sept. 2004 we started a Sunday Morning Worship with our neighbors. June 2005 by the request of our neighbors we became incorporated as Church of the Living God Inc. We officially started Sept. 2005 with God's Blessings and Anointing our membership has increased and as of March 26, 2006 we held our Sunday morning services at the Hampton Inn on Tarrytown Rd, Elmsford, NY. After 2 years and 9 months of having services at the Hampton Inn, Our Church began having services at Allen AME Church in White Plains NY.On Easter Sunday 1010, God has blessed us with our very own place of worship, located at 1049 Yonkers Ave. Yonkers, NY. Come and Visit and fellowship with us.
What is Salvation?
In Romans 10:9-13 it states "If thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thy heart that God has raised him from the dead thou shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scriptures says whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek, for the same Lord overall is rich unto all that call upon Him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." After Peter preached his first sermon is states in Acts 2:37-40, Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the Apostles, Men and brethren what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be Baptized, everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remissions of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is unto you and to your children, and to all that are far off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generations.
How Can I Be Saved? 4 STEPS TO CHRIST
Step 1. God Loves You! The Bible says, "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" The problem is that . . . Step 2. All of us have done, said or thought things that are wrong. This is called sin, and our sins have separated us from God. The Bible says "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." God is perfect and holy, and our sins separate us from God forever. The Bible says "The wages of sin is death." The good news is that, about 2,000 years ago, Step 3. God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins. Jesus is the Son of God. He lived a sinless life and then died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. "God demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us." Jesus rose from the dead and now He lives in heaven with God His Father. He offers us the gift of eternal life -- of living forever with Him in heaven if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by Me." God reaches out in love to you and wants you to be His child. "As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe on His name." You can choose to ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and come in to your life as your Lord and Savior. Step 4. If you want to accept Christ as Savior and turn from your sins, you can ask Him to be your Savior and Lord by praying a prayer like this: "Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to serve you always."
